COVID will probably slow things down, but not the many that are already under construction. Right now the two downtowns are comparable, but already in 2020 edge Austin. 2025 - Austin in a blowout...
Man, that's a **** load of new towers including a possible new tallest!

Probably give it to Nashville for now, even though both cities are building a bunch of buildings that all look the same. They're lacking the flavor that they got back in the 90s and their looks are becoming standard. That is not that impressive to me.

I agree. Too often on this forum, just having towers, or their height is equated with quality etc.

I like both but Nashville's Batman building is just so iconic to me with its twin spires.

I want to say that I read years ago that Nashville has strict height limits with its buildings due to FAA regulations with the airport's flight paths being in close proximity to the downtown core.

Current tallest for Nashville proposed is 750ft. Seems like at one time it was at least 800ft. Will be a nice tower if built. Nashville could use some height.

Indeed Tower topped out in Austin at 542ft. It doesn't make much of an impact on the skyline from this angle, but will definitely look amazing if the crown is lit well.

^^Beautiful! A new proposal has been announced for a new tower that will be about 74 stories and possibly the tallest in Texas.

It just keeps getting better. Soon Austin will claim the tallest tower in Texas.

Nashville can't match Austin's height nor will it in the foreseeable future. But Nashville's strength is the area of the urban high rise and mid rise building stock which stretches as far as 24 city blocks east and west by 10 north and south.

This view is about a mile from downtown.
