Hello Again, it is that time!

I decided to reboot this thread instead of going back to the thread I originally did. The reason is that some of the data was spotty and now that it is uploaded to data.census.gov, its much more clear. Compared to past Demographics threads, I have also included "Multi-Racial" as a new category.

Anyway, it is below! Ill post 2010-2020 growth by race (and Hispanic ethnicity) in a later post.

Holy Hell MSP, Pittsburgh, St Louis, Cincinnati....
Heavily imbalanced.

Houston, the Bay Area and Vegas look like the only ones where no category is over 40%.

Raleigh seems to have a decent Asian and Hispanic population.

Nice stats. Can't rep this post yet

Would not have guessed that the Chicago MSA would be whiter than the San Diego, Sacramento, and Austin MSAs.

I would.
The latter 3 has a fast growing Hispanic and Asian population while Chicago has been losing blacks.
I wouldn't think Chicago has a fast growing white population, I would think the stats just reflect decreasing minority demographics.

Metros with % white over 70:

Minneapolis
St. Louis
Pittsburgh
Cincinnati
Providence
Louisville
Buffalo

This very much surprises me, especially when you look at racial demographics within city limits. I guess the suburbs are what skews the percent white upward.

I was also surprised that Nashville is just as white as Portland is.

The Twin Cities' diversity is primarily in the core cities' limits. Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center are the most diverse suburbs.

Good post. Since the census doesn't count "Hispanic" as a race wouldn't it make sense to have the totals for each race instead of excluding Hispanics?

I keep Hispanic as a comparable group simply because thats the way the census organizes it.
