It has some nice ones, especially by the river in the Plant Riverside District. Electric Moon is a nice one with a good view.

I've stayed at the Autograph Marriott and JW Marriott (next to each other), both have nice rooftops, especially the Autograph.
I've always enjoyed my time in Savannah, great town to stroll around and the downtown revitalization definitely shows (compared to 15+ years ago).

Well, there are at least 47 decent ones in LA MSA according to the LA Times recently.

*I'm not counting 2 of them that the Times themselves stated they took liberty with (Yamashiro in the Hollywood Hills and Malibu Farm on the Malibu Pier).

This thread ranking is for rooftops within city limits only.

Looks like there are 20 listed on this website, but even many of these seem to be outside city limits. I will say I’m pretty surprised the City of LA does so poorly in rooftops. Any idea why there aren’t more?

LA City Proper Rooftops

Like most cities, I’m sure there are a few more, but it seems to be a good apples to apples comparison.

Most cities rooftop bars are useless outside of summer. Way too windy and chilly to be up there, especially at night.

NYC and LA will win due to the sheer size of these cities, but if we’re talking per capita, you may start to see places like DC, Miami or Atlanta come into play.

Not really, no. I went to a rooftop bar in NJ in January. It was absolutely fine and bearable

Now, i went to one in Orlando back in 2019. That was unbearable
