Good save.

Anyways, I've seen some numbers that suggest Houston's Museum of Fine Arts receive over 2.5 million visitors a year.

You are thinking of the Museum of Natural Science Houston.

That one is the most visited one in Houston.

I read it right; just got it wrong. That 2.5 million includes MFAH and all its affiliates.

It is definitely not the largest art museum, however, Tampa Bay may home to the largest musuem dedicated to one artist. The Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg.

That's because DC is not a southern city. It's culture, sophistication and cosmopolitanism resembles it northern counteroparts.

what is your point?? My point is why is there only one southern City in the top ten, not where DC is. If that is what you got from it you need to take a little extra time reading.

How on earth does DC's sophistication relate to the lack of highly visited museums in the south??

Does anyone have a list of museums by the size of their collection? I know the Minneapolis Institute of Arts has about 80,000 items which puts it near the top of the second tier but it would be cool to see a breakdown of all of the large to medium art museums.
