How can you call a city useless, than come back and ask which is the most important?

Atlanta for the win, with Minn a close 2nd.

I would say Atlanta since it's the big economic hub of the Southeast, and it has the world's busiest airport. Detroit would be the 2nd most important because of the auto industry. I also think Philly should be on that list, since it's a badly crimed city.

I don't get how these cities were selected. Yes, Baltimore's crime rate is worse than DCs or Phillys but not by much. It's all relative to where you live and work in the city also. I live in Baltimore and seldom witness crime. But, I'm not out trying to get drugs at 3 in the morning. (When most of the crime occurs).
Given all that, I would say all the cities are worth helping and supporting. We are only as strong as our weekest link. But, the phenomina of crime affects neighborhoods in every city in the country. That is what needs to be discussed.

My thought, too, j; I don't consider any of these cities 'useless'.

Your criteria for "Crimed" cities is interesting...did you just pick places at random?

Did you know that in 2007, San Francisco had a higher crime rate than Newark?

Newark Violent Crime:
853 per 100,000

San Francisco Violent Crime:
874 per 100,000

Newark Property Crime:
3,806 per 100,000

San Francisco Property Crime:
4,696 per 100,000

There are a lot of cities you could put on there before Newark.

The port of New Orleans is pretty important.
