You dodged a bullet again. I am still waiting for you to show me any study that talks about the importance of LA's economy to the world. You avoided discussing in depth the Master Card research and the GaWC study because both did not rank LA & San Francisco high in the global economic system. You even called them a joke....well, I guess we all should believe in your irrational thinking because those world-renowned scholars & experts are idiots
Again, Mexico city's GDP is still bigger than S.F's. Is that really important?

Excuse me, LA has the 2nd Largest Economy in the Most Powerful Country in the World. I dont think its LA that needs to explain itself.

The number of Five Star Hotels is not what I call 'in depth' when it comes to determining importance. But that's an actual factor used by Mastercard. No thanks.

Again, I wouldnt be surprised to read that The Bay Area surpassed has Chicagoland the next time the stats come out in Sep 09-just like DC-Baltimore surpassed Chicagoland last year.
Theyre practically tied as it is... Chicago-Naperville-Michigan City, IL-IN-WI $490.9 Billion
San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland, CA $475.5 Billion
And yet LA is still a beta city just like San Francisco according to GaWC 2008.
Your comment about the MasterCard research is just ridiculous. Like I said, your irrational thinking is second to none. You still failed to explain why MasterCard study does not list LA as one of the 10 world's most important economic centers. Why did they rank New York & Chicago among the top 10?
Hold on to your Combined statistical areas stats. I'd rather use the PricewaterhouseCoopers GDP growth estimates.

Yes, just as Frankfurt and Singapore are important financial centers, so Chicago is.
But outside of the realm of finance and economics, Chicago, like Frankfurt and Singapore, take a huge, enormous back seat to Los Angeles.
I like DC a lot and while I don't live in the city proper consider it like a 3rd hometown now. So had to represent.
Not to mention it's the most powerful city in the world. Well that's what the radio said when I first moved to VA. "Broadcasting from the most powerful city in the world" I was like cool I live near the most powerful city in the world.
Ha, do you realize how unofficial that list is? Have you even heard of Loughborough University?
Not a slight. But do you think that your more credible?
