I thought this is a more legitimate poll, and appropriate since it's Game 7 of the Stanley Cup between the Red Wings and Penguins. Which of those two cities do you like better and why? For the game, I'm a Wings fan.

Detroit, and not just because I live in Michigan, I think Detroit is a low spot in our State's economy. I just like the feel of Detroit over Pittsburgh. Bad areas of course, but every large city has them, and downtown Detroit is quite interesting.

Do have to admit that I have the prerequisite winged wheel on the back window of the vehicle so you know who I am rooting for in Game 7.

I would take Pittsburgh over Detroit as I think it is a highly under-rated city, but I would take Michigan over PA for the exact same reason. Michigan is absolutely one the most beautiful states in the land.

I'd take Pittsburgh over Detroit anyday. It's fairing well against the recession, and like many people say, it's very underrated.

I am originally from Detroit but I would vote Pittsburgh. It is kind of obvious to anyone who has been to both cities.

Hey, I love Detroit's spirit and pluck against so many odds, but you've gotta go w/ Pittsburgh. The Steel City's got better: mass transit (in a much smaller city/metro area), walking districts -- compare South Side, Squirrel Hill and Oakland to, where? New Center? Mexicantown? Corktown Hamtramck even? ... please, stronger, more cohesive, busier downtown, much stronger cultural center (Oakland vs. WSU cultural center), stronger architecture (rowhouses, more brick, stone), and more interesting geography, by far...

In sum: Pittsburgh in a walk.

Pittsburgh... very underrated city

Has wonderful winding urban neighborhoods to explore, like a maze

Pittsburgh as a city. If you live in the Suburbs you can take the light rail to the Downtown area. It doesn't matter if it's not efficient, the point is you can't do that in Detroit.

Pittsburgh Metro area also has a diversified economy where as Metro Detroit's economy only has the auto industry.

Pittsburgh wins this one. It is redeveloped and doing much better than Detroit. Pittsburgh is on the rebound while Detroit is still in a major slump.
