What is the obsession about the spire on top of BOA Plaza? It seems that there are a handful of people that just can't accept the height of this building - I just don't get it.
People, Atlanta's BOA Plaza was constructed with a crown and a spire...get over it.
Right man out of all the buildings in the Southern cities they keep talking about BOA building. I thought the thread was what city will get the next supertall.

The Southern cities are jealous of Atlanta...........lol!
Atlanta would more likely be the location of a "SUPER TOWER" ... although Charlotte is closing in on Atlantas dominance in the "skyline battle" of the southeastern states.
I believe the new Duke Energy skyscraper ( in Charlotte ) is quite a tall one, in addition to being a "stunner" in the looks dept!
Ummm No Charlotte skyline is Nice but its still has a ways too go before its reaches Atlanta Skylines, Notice the S is plural
As far as super tower goes, I think it will be in a city that right now is not known for its skyline. This would give it prominence. I think about Charlotte in 1992 once the BOA building was built. Atlanta and Miami already are behemoths in the skyline department so I count them out. They may have larger and more dominant skylines, but IMO, I don't see a super-tower for them. So I picked NOLA. But it could be Austin, Nashville, Memphis, or even Augusta(lol). Who knows.
I picked other because I think Houston in the future will add another super tall to their skyline. You would think that Atlanta and Miami Skyline wouldn’t be booming during the recession considering both cities have been hit hard by the recession. Dallas and Houston skyline during this same period have remained unchanged. You would think it would be the exact reverse considering Dallas and Houston strong economies. I just get the feeling Atlanta and Miami are going to end up like Dallas did in the past with over building when the demand is not there. It took years for Dallas to fully recover.
1400 Peachtree which is currently in the design phase is said to possibly be a new tallest for Atlanta.
