Soul food does have heart and it is delicious.
You're hardly going to get any better soul food than in Atlanta.
I know, I lived in Atlanta years back and I also love to eat tasty food.

But you just can't compare the two states.

Example:
Washington State likes to let people know they are second in the nation for growing wine grapes.
Second only to California. wow
Sounds impressive 'til you compare the volume of wine grapes produced in in both states.

Total tonnage in 2012:
  • California: 4,014,000
  • Washington: 188,000

California is just a powerhouse in the food world.
Nobody comes close.

Comparing California, Washington wine - Great Northwest Wine

I agree I just know overall "soul" food is overall unhealthy in general compared to other countries food. I'd rather take Indian chicken curry over fried chicken anyday. Soul food is tasty and delicious but it is not that healthy.

I completely agree with bold highlighted.

In terms of cuisine, Georgia. in terms of diversity of restaurants, California

Strongly disagree - give me the cuisine of California over Georgia any day.

A fairer comparison would have been the Southeast vs the West Coast.

I was just saying I prefer the cuisine of California to Georgia. It's a totally subjective thing.

Lol I think California is the easy answer here.

I love southern food as much as anyone but was never largely impressed with "Georgia style". I honestly think we do it much better on my side of the South (TX, LA, MS).

California has an abundance of strict food guidelines, non-gmo, gluten free, organic options. A very easy choice...
