I don't know which current state has the best boxers, but I know which former Commonwealth has the best boxer:

Puerto Rico, and I really think its hard to argue it.

New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan have to be considered as well.

I would add New Jersey to that list, not really boxing, but everytime I watch MMA I feel like every fighter is from Jersey

As far as boxing I don't know. Seems to be pretty spread throughout the globe nowadays.

For MMA, California hands down. Whether they originate from here or have simply relocated here to fight, to the best of my knowledge the highest concentration of great MMA fighters in any US state is and has always been in CA.

Yeah, Puerto Rico isn't a state technically but it has some of the best fighters of any state. Guys like:
