It's funny because in St. Louis we never refer to a freeway by the name of the expressway. I-70 is the Mark Twain Expressway..we call it I-70. I-64/U.S. 40 is the Daniel Boone Expressway. We call it I-64/U.S. 40, more oftenly just "40". I-55 is called the Rosa Parks Highway but we call it I-55. I-44 is the Henry Shaw Ozark corridor but we call it I-44. I think that generally the only times freeways are called by their corridor or expressway names are in VERY big cities.

I've never heard of any of those names. Cleveland has some official or semiofficial names for its interstate freeways, but I rarely heard them. Names are big in Chicago and Detroit.

Be glad you're in PA; the RRXC hwy is currently under construction with huge backups during "rush hour"... (I'm with ya on the insane attempt to name every structure/roadway in America after him...)

I have heard that Kansas City has a large ratio of laneage per population, but I've never been there
Other than those nasty curves as I-65 threads it's way thru downtown and the mess where I-64/I-65/I-71 come together, Louisville has one of my favorite freeway systems. Now if they'd one day extend the Gene Snyder into Southern IN...

I used to live in st. louis. "40" was what we locals called it...every out of towner called it "I-64"....which sounded funny to me at the time.

We also call I-170 the inner belt, and I-270 the outerbelt expressway.

Cant wait till Vegas completes their outer loop on the southern border. It would speed up service to McCarran greatly (if not done already).

Though Vegas is outgrowing its current freeway system...Phoenix is ahead of Vegas, but still behind DFW and Houston. And Phoenix is growing rapidly also. For the longest time in Phoenix, you had to go local...aka Scottsdale Rd, but things are improving freeway wise there.
