^^ very interesting!

I just wish more black american families would stay together. Since almost 7/10 black families are single-parent households, this severely limits the amount of well-off black communities that could exist in america. We need a revolution!

1. North Valley Stream is a lot like Elmont except a little nicer.

2. Central Valley Stream is where the mall, LIRR stop and all the shopping is at. I think it's a great place for singles of every ethnicity. This part of VS attracts some riff-raff since a lot of NYC come there to shop. Has the smallest homes in VS.

3. South Valley Stream is the whitest part of VS. Still very diverse, has a lot of Jews. Very similar to Woodmere, Cedarhurst, Lawrence and Hewlett; except more diverse.

With Elmont, usually the more south you go, the nicer it is. The areas near Hempstead Tpke has more petty crimes and mischief than the rest of town. Elmont has good schools too, you can even look it up. Elmont schools and Lakeview schools [Malverne] are one of the highest-peforming majority black school districts in the nation.
Interesting and that last statement doesn't surprise me. You can find other districts in the state with decent to high Black percentages with national average to high grad rates among those Black student populations.

This area of Elmont would fit much of the criteria too: Census Tract 405100 in Nassau County, New York

Yep, that's the best area!

I also think part of that highlighted area gets VS schools

What about the area of the outer North Side west of Penn Ave North/north of Highway 55/south of West Broadway to the city/Robbinsdale line? It appears to be a predominately Black lower middle class area and perhaps the closest candidate. This street view is at the northern end of that general area: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.0038...8i6656!6m1!1e1

My criteria for a good African-american neighborhood:

-Average or less crime
-Good public service facilities
-A good middle-class population
-Lots of fine culture/entertainment (music scene, literature, cultural attractions, etc.)
-Good transportation access
-Lively shopping/dining
-Good recreational facilities

-At least 50% of the neighborhood is black
-A population of at least 5,000
Most if the neighborhoods listed in this thread lack the bolded.

Now that Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Bed Stuy, Harlem, Shaw and Columbia Heights are no longer majority Black, I'd have to say Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood fits this criteria the best.

The Villages of Detroit may also fit, particularly West Village, Indian Village and East English Village.

Perhaps parts of Mattapan in Boston may also fit.

Mattapan doesn't have many redeeming qualities. Roxbury is the nicest of Boston's Black neighborhoods.

Yeah, while there are some middle class parts and a business district, it does have some rough areas.
