Default boredatwork

DC is the victim of alot of contradiction
-D.C still the murder capitol yet ppl believe everybody lives surrounded by a picket fence
-PPl believe DC has no ghettos or hoods
_ppl believe the city bailed out the bank, started a war, raised gas prices,....I think ppl just think the federal govt is the same as the DC local govt

I think he means that is what he thought when he was only 8 years old.

Its funny, when I was kid living in Queens, I had no idea how much bigger New York City was than most other cities. I cannot remember any of the adults saying New York is bigger than XYZ city. Since in my family we were NY Mets fans, I thought NY was roughly similar to the Mets competition like Philadlephia, Cinncinatti and St Louis.

Most Overmagnified: LA

Most Damaged: LA

Interestingly, NYC's problems, whatever they may be, don't seem to be magnified or obsessed upon. It seems as if NYC's problems are so accepted as to not be seen as problems but more like.. just the way it is.

LA was portrayed and hyped as a kind of paradise, though, a place for Americans from the rest of the United States to escape to for vacation or to live in. Since it has been so vaunted, made such the pie in the sky, it's easier to criticize and portray as a disappointment.

Unrealistic expectations usually lead to disappointment, though.
