I have the option of getting a time share in either Montauk, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard Long Island, The Hamptons, or Virginia Beach. Cost isn't an issue, but which is the best for recreational opportunities?

Montauk and the Hamptons are on Long island...so 3 of your options are the same thing.

On your list, I'd pick The Vineyard. Virginia Beach is not in the same league at all, so if you want to head south, I'd continue into North Carolina for some nicer beach communities.
