While I'm sure that they're are still a few New Yorkers holding out and fighting the good fight in NYC. NYC is curretnly occupied by an invading army of well-to-do celebrities and quasi-republican transplants led by the bourgeoisie Generals giuliani and bloomberg. From my own personal experience, old school New Yorkers and thier swagger has for the most part been pushed out to north Jersey.

NYC is not the same place it used to be.

The only thing in north jersey are people from NEW JERSEY and some ny transplants. There are millions of real new yorkers in the other boroughs. Anything else is simply misinformed and "hollywood". Take it from people who live here. Nyc is an international city of course theres going to be transplants, im just saying that there are millions on millions on millions of real nyers still in the city. This myth annoys the hell out of me. New jersey, connecticut come on ?

Think Henry Hill/Goodfellas. Not Ralph Kramden/Honeymooners

Immigrants used to be able to come their with basically just the shirt on their back, and have a shot at achieving the American dream. Thats what made it so great.

Nowadays an immigrant has a better chance of finding that dream in Texas.

There is no way we are debating if NYC has changed, because it clearly has.

The question is has it changed for the better or worse?

You asked me to prove SF+SJ (SF Bay Area) was on par with Chicagoland, London, or Paris Metro. I did with published data.

You know damn well that when you find data knocking SF to #15, you are only counting basically half the Bay Area. In reality, the Bay Area is one and ranks up there with the aforementioned metros.

Can you even give me that?? Are we even debating in good faith here if you won't allow us that much??
You tried to mislead everyone by posting your list as though it were official. The table heading has the word "Alternative" right in it. Also, I trust the U.N. more than some guy (Thomas Brinkhoff) I've never even heard of before. Using your same exact document, I posted the official U.N. estimates. I don't know why I'm even arguing this, when your data is 3 years older than mine.
