No, I rearely have enough time to come on here. I read your first post, went to the next thread and saw the other one, and was like - what?

It was just a simple observation. That is all.

And I thought Brunswick was boring and people from there would have more time...

Research? They were in adjacent threads and posted minutes apart. Anyway, the above post doesn't do much to clear up your contradictory nature...

My suggestion: Memphis

Well there's a perfect example of "why people are negative".
It has nothing to do with Cleveland.

Someone made a choice to live 45 minutes from thier job on a good day.
Which is fine, but don't complain about a long commute in a blizzard then.
Then moved to a city where "there's nothing to do".
And now is miserable and thinks "Cleveland Sucks!".

No offense intended honestly. Just proving a point about the other thread.

I have a friend who lives in the 'tuck who sounds just like you. His only "reason" for living there is a 1% lower sales tax (even though 90% of the stores he shops at are in Strongsville/Cuyahoga County)... but never mind the extra 3-4 gallons of gas it takes to go to work every day.
Is it just the lower sales tax? Most people I know who chose suburbs in adjacent counties over Cuyahoga County -- especially places like Brunswick, North Ridgeville, etc. -- cited cheaper houses and lower property taxes as the main reasons.

I wouldn't say property taxes. That is a city by city thing and not really a county thing.
Wouldn't say houses are cheaper either. There are "cheap" houses all over Cuyahoga County.

Maybe there is a perception that taxes or houses are cheaper but they really are not.
Cigarettes are cheaper.

Well, as you can see by what I posted, the lower sales tax (1 lousy %)doesn't make much difference, especially when you're shopping in Cuyahoga County most of the time anyway. His property tax rate is also higher than mine. His lot is also smaller and his house was no bargain. Overall, when you work downtown and then live in Medina county, you're not setting yourself up for a great deal. You really have to love it there.

It's no knock on Brunswick or wherever else people choose to live. Just don't complain about the long drive, the gasoline budget gouge, and the inclement weather issues related to your commute. After all, that was your choice also.

Really? Most people I know who have done that are anti-city or move to the biggest suburban house they can get because that is how they perceive to have "made it". Property tax is also cited as an excuse, but it's usually not valid. In fact I have had this very conversation with someone who moved to Geauga County and they brought up high taxes. Of course they cited Cleveland Hts and Shaker Hts taxes, but when I brought up Cuyahoga Hts and Old Brooklyn, which both have very low tax rates, that person said something about the houses being too close together and declining neighborhoods close by.
