I checked to see if there were any recent Lakewood threads but guess not.

What is the area on Edgewater near the water's edge like?

Is it noisy? Are those high rises nice to live in?

What is the drive time from downtown Cleveland -rush and non rush hours?

The Edgewater area is awesome and the high rises are very nice. That area is pretty quiet, although some of the smaller loft apartments can get loud due to college kids, but it's not loud.

It's a very aesthetically pleasing area, all the way down Clifton/Lake into Cleveland.

Driving from there during non rush hours is 5-10 minutes. You just hop on the Shoreway.

I personally think Lakewood is AWESOME. I love the view from Lakewood Park Promenade.

The other you're talking about with the highrises is known as the Gold Coast, which is still very popular. Lakewood itself is a very diverse community.

Edgewater commute is like 10 min. Gold Coast 15-20 min.

Less than that. I work downtown and live in the area. I get down 10-15 during morning rush hour.

Lakewood is an incredibly walkable city, if you live north of Detroit Rd. you are very close to the lake. Anywhere in the city you are a 10-15 minute commute to downtown Cleveland. You have the Shoreway to the north and I90 to the south, both make downtown easily accessable.
