How is the area along this stretch crimewise? Would you feel safe walking around? We are looking at a small business opportunity there, but it is a public facing business, so want to know what the chances are of getting robbed, hassled by gangs, etc..

I have walked over there, not such a large area... during the day when you can see everything going on, it doesn't seem so bad, but I mean, I'm also a 6 foot 2 male. As a general rule, I'd prefer to be in North Collinwood over South Collinwood.

The area has a bad rep and if you check out google maps street view, you can see that it's kind of blighted. When I've been over there, which is admittedly not all that often, but it does happen occasionally, I see mostly people minding their own business and school kids going in and out of the library over there.

That is helpful.. going to see if we can come over there and maybe stay for a little while to see. In general, we're more worried about the day to day dealing with customers/public. The sense we got is that most people there probably are just people as anywhere, minding themselves, but we were more worried if there was something someone local would know more about such as gangs or such that may threaten / rob a transplant business owner.
