If you want to see rock bottom head to Detroit. Cleveland has had one of the strongest recoveries out of the recession and its unemployment rate does not indicate that it is at the bottom of the pack right now. Polluted? I think you are more than a little dated on this. Bad weather, maybe, but summers are pleasant and some people like snow. Seattle's weather is not nice and yet it has grown rapidly. Minneapolis is much colder and it has grown as well.

Cleveland is much healthier than a lot of cities out there. We have ammenities that compete with Chicago, we have one of the best park systems, we are home to plenty of fortune 500 companies, we have a rapid transit system, we have North America's most improved aiport, our unemployment rate is below the US average, we are home to world reknowed medical facilities, and billions of dollars worth of new projects will break ground in a few weeks in downtown alone. Not mentioning booming University Circle.

Sorry, but the media likes to blow things out of proportion. So why not write of lies and idiotic sob stories on Cleveland.... The media is full of idiots, seriously.

I also have to say that this is the reason why I become Cleveland's number one tour guide EVERY TIME an old friend comes back to town. I just love showing off my favorite places. And for many of these friends, they left Cleveland after high school or college and have no idea what's actually here for the over-21 crowd into arts, music, nightlife, etc. Many other friends who just pass through town on business always compliment our city saying how nice the people are or how memorable the different places have been for them. These are people I know from all over the US and the world. So chin up, Clevelanders. It's actually pretty nice here.

I completely agree with you!!!!

Thumbs up Cleveland Rocks!

In response (or to add), I live in Columbus, Ohio for 8yrs now... and like everyone else, all I heard was how bad Cleveland is. Well, I don't believe it one bit. Every time I visit Cleveland -- approx 7 times over 8yrs -- I've grown to love the city! I feel Cleveland has more to offer as a city in a whole. Yes, Columbus is the capital and job growth here is showing. But there's a nice feeling about Cleveland. Last Fall, I got to visit the art museum and Cleveland's Botanical Garden. It was just a nice feeling walking around the city. If it wasn't for the job market (or lack of) in Cleveland, I'd pack everything up and move up there in a heart beat!

Cleveland is no worse than any other city, Downtown is just fine. I've lived downtown for about a year and a half now at the Reserve Square and the only hassle is the air show that comes in the summer

I think national publications like to mention Cleveland in their articles , maybe it gets more readers, who knows. This publication mentions CLE as losing the most jobs over the last year...
Major U.S. metros added almost 1 million jobs in past year - The Business Journals=

in responce to all the love for this city,

yea, there are some good points alright, and as a matter of fact, we tend to look at the good by the many different looks the city has changed since. and comparingly deciding to overlook the reasons for the change in look. has anyone seen "CARS" movie, animation? well, the same lil town the race car ruined their streets worried the towns folks of whether anybody will come on by and possibly buy something. The city is outdated in its structure to handle the redecorating of high tech. not only that but it is the only city that many businesses have resently open for the betterment of the city to have closed and left abandoned more than 2500 sq.yrds of property which has always been a problem here with old abandoned buildings. homelessness here in cleveland is on the rise for those who havent noticed because their too busy passing 'em by ignoring the reality of their existance, refering them as 'felons' or 'losers', not being able to get a desent job do to background checks which was supposed to help citizens from illegals now has turn against those who need a chance to change. Oh.. by the way, we now have a casino, when cleveland in the past rejected mobsters in the streets downtown, scamming clevelanders have adamantly recieved them with open arms, thanks for using my tax paying money to continueing breaking homes and creating prostitution, more drug usage and people desperatly seeking victims for ruthless demise we're used to here in this city. Yes I say bring more people to this city, that way we can replace what left.

Wow. Are you Danny Green?

For living here for 34 years AND being born in the city, you certainly don't know the logistics of it very well.
