I was always under the impression that people move to Phoenix for the warmth. What do you do for entertainment in Phoenix?! We are spoiled in northern Ohio with numerous, diverse attractions.

I also moved back to Cleveland from Phoenix, actually I lived in Glendale for a couple of years and Peoria for a couple of years. I've been a Clevelander my whole life except for the couple of years I spent in AZ. The heat does get annoying but I would still take a nice dry heat over the putrid swamp air we can get here anyday. I actually worked out on the ramp at PHX SkyHarbor Airport the whole time so believe me I know what hot can really be like. The problems with PHX are the traffic, the way people drive, and the lack of things to do. The way I look at it is Arizona has a lot to do but Phoenix has really nothing to do except shop and going out to eat. Cleveland has the lake and the Metroparks which is actually in the city not a 1-2 hour drive outside of it. There is really nothing free to do in the city of PHX and the city parks what few there is are a joke. People are real here not plastic like out there. Did you ever wonder where all the Ford Excursions ended up, well there all in Phoenix with monster truck tires standing 20 feet tall with annoying exhaust and a little 20 something housewife in it riding your tail on the highway while texting on the phone going 80 then crying when she gets a photo radar ticket in the mail about how unfair it is in her forclosed home with the RV, ATV, boat, jet ski and the dirt bikes.

Try taking interstate through Texas to get to Arizona. Enjoy the scenery!

With the Indians setting up their winter home in Goodyear AZ, I suspect some folks who retire may end up picking up a small residence in the Phoenix area, while retaining a home in metro Cleveland. It would be a good getaway for a 4-5 month period, and get some nice Tribe baseball in too.

Balto and Cleveland are "clone" cities
I was born and raised in Baltimore, moved to Cleveland in my early 30's. When I moved to Cleveland (from Milwaukee), I felt at home right away-- mainly because Cleveland was so much like the city where I was born. Similar demographics, similar size, similar cultural life, etc. I think Cleveland and Balto are "clone cities"-- and a person moving from one to another would feel very comfortable. By the way, I love Cleveland. It's the perfect size, has beautiful residential areas, all the amenities of a larger East coast city without the hassles, very friendly people, and a great work ethic. One plus for Cleveland over Baltimore-- gorgeous summers in NE Ohio without the horrific humidity of the Balto/DC area.
