How do these to American cities compare? What are the pro's and con's of both? There is a similar thread in the Chicago Suburbs Sub-Forum.

in my opinion ny is the only city that has more to do than chicago. i actually like chicago better. but comparing cleveland and chicago i would have to say cleveland is like a small chicago in regards to ethnic diversity, segregation, nice suburbs, ethnic foods and many langauges/traditions still upheld in different nieghborhoods.

I agree with the poster above and I also like Chicago better. I would also think Chicago has better job opportunities out there since there isn't much going on here in Cleveland at the moment. Cleveland has Chicago beat out as far as sports is concerned, in my opinion.

Yeah, this topic has been posted a few times in different threads and forums. Obviously since Chicago is bigger its going to have more to do, but Cleveland is not that far behind. A lot of people compare the two cities since Cleveland is basically like a smaller version of Chicago. Theyre a lot alike but the economy seems worse in Cleveland and the housing is much cheaper in Cleveland. Everything else is pretty similar though.

No kidding. Speaking of Economy, isn't the UE rate in Cleveland lower than the rate in Chicago? Besides that, the COL is much higher in Chicago. Both places like to tax you, but the raw dollar amount will likely be higher in Chicago since overall living costs are higher.

While OH is not doing well as a state, things are much worse in IL. They just floated bonds with an interest rate HIGHER than those associated with corporate junk bonds. That's not a good sign; I wouldn't loan money to IL at any interest rate, b/c there is 0.0000000000% chance the state will ever pay it back.

To be fair to IL, they pay so much more out in Federal Tax than they ever get back. Most of the blue states do, btw. It mostly goes to support the back-assward southern states who claim to be self-supporting bootstrappers and can't get over the fact that the confederate flag is meaningless.

Cleveland has plenty going on in the job market. Like anywhere it all depends what field you're in. I have a good job and my phone is ringing off the hook with potential opportunities that I'm continuously turning down. Tbh, I think I'd take Chicago's sports at the moment...

In my opinion, Cleveland's size is perfect...Chicago is too big, New York is WAY too big...All 3 cities have oodles of things to do for singles and families alike....The big thing about cleveland is everything is within a 40 minute drive, where as chi-town and NY, well, you be lucky if you can get uptown within an hour.....and that's at night
