I recently accepted an offer at PCMHospital in Greenville, NC and need to find a comfortable place to live for a few years. During my research for rentals in Greenville I mostly came across student housing... Where do the working middle class live in Greenville? I would ideally like to live in a 1 or 2 bedroom home or townhouse, although will settle for an a nice apartment. I thought it may be nice to live in or near downtown although after the day I spent there it felt mostly ECU students lived and hung out there. Nothing against students, I just may not want to be in that scene everyday. Please let me know of some areas, communities, or apartment complexes that I could look into.
The apartments/townhomes that I can think of right by the hospital are Signature Place (Apts. and Townhomes) and Meridian Park (Large Apartments), neither of which rent to ECU students, but I also don't think either are that impressive. I personally like Dudley's Grant and Treetops townhomes, there are almost always 1-2 available to rent, but you wouldn't be right next to the hospital, probably about 3-4 miles away. There should be plenty of options for you, it just depends on what you want. Downtown isn't the safest, it's fine to party there as an ECU student, but I really couldn't see living there.
Haven't seen them personally but they seem to be right near Arlington Village, one of my favorite areas of town. They are definitely worth a look, if nothing else.
I am thinking of finding a place East of Downtown Greenville, NC...Is it safe? Is it mostly college students? the houses quaint and a bit historic? I would like to live walking and or biking distance to coffee shop, post office, and library...Is this the place for me? Please any info. Need a place in two weeks!
There aren't too many quaint and historic areas in Greenville, you would need to branch out to Farmville, Grifton, Washington or New Bern to find that. You would want to be in the east part of town, "West Greenville" is considered ghetto (even though technically it's north, but I won't confuse you). Two weeks to find a place is tough, but I found a place in a week so it's possible. Are you coming here before you move?
