From what I've seen and researched, there doesn't appear to be any apartment complexes right near Wrightsville Beach. Like where Lumina Station and Mayfaire are. (That is my favorite area in Wilmington, and am looking for apts other than the mayfaire condos.. too expensive) I'm sure this is because there's more money to be made for condos and houses to be in the area rather than apartments.

Anyway, was wondering which apartment complexes are closest to that Mayfaire/lumina station/WB area?? The area by UNCW, i think it's S. College Road.. the street with TONS of retail, to me is a different world than near Mayfaire/Lumina Station and though they are close, I'd rather be closer to WB than the S. College Road area. Know what i'm saying? Thoughts? Suggestions? Want to keep it at $800 or under.

Lion's Gate comes to mind. There are quite a few. Go to craigslist, type in "Wrightsville Beach", and look through the ones whose location is listed as "Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach"

I do do that, but most are expensive.. so I was looking for an apt complex where units might be cheaper

Ah.. well good luck. I misunderstood, I didn't realize you wanted a place by yourself. If so, for $800/mo you might be better off looking closer to UNCW or midtown. Landfall, Wrightsville Beach, and Mayfaire are all really desirable locations. Downtown has options for that price.. I used to rent a 1,400sqft 2br near 3rd & Church for $750.

The best rental deals in Wilmington, by FAR, are the big 4 and 5 bedroom, 4,500 sqft houses in Landfall, and on the creeks in the general "near WB" area you're talking about. Obviously you need to split them with multiple people, but most of these places are really opulent, in premium locations, and often go for $500/bedroom or less.

Hi, I'm answering this really late but I used to live in Wilmington. I loved our townhouse off of college rd. We were close to everything but there was an apt complex that was right near the beach, Wrightsville. We made a right to park on the grass but I think you would've made a left. I'm not sure how long a walk it would've been to the beach but probably a five minute bike ride. I'm actually trying to find it myself and I can't. So if you happened to find it would you be able to let me know. Thank you so much for any help and we"re you able to find anything. We're looking to move back this summer. Thanks again.
