Unlike drought-ridden corn crops in the Midwest, Cape Fear farms say their corn is doing just fine. Despite high temperatures, the area has seen enough rain to keep the crops thriving.

This is good news, I feel for midwesterners but I hope this state keeps whatever corn for table consumption first, then animals. And say no to those who want it for ethanol, which was a bad idea in first place because of the occasional droughts.

That really has more to do with the type of corn grown i.e. Dent vs Sweet corn varieties. The vast majority is feed and industrial use corn, with a small percentage grown for human consumption.
