We are purchasing a new home in a development just outside of town (its actually a part of town but separate from the actual town). We expect to move about the beginning of July. I'll probably have lots of questions on this forum between now and then.

A lot of DA's will poop on Newport, but it is in a GREAT location, near the retail in Morehead City and NOT in Craven County. Good Luck. The only draw back is if you have to go to New Bern, through the hell of Havelock. Of course if you are USMC, that is part of the job, suck it up!

Well, acquisition is underway for the Havelock Bypass, with construction set to start in 2016...its funded per NC DOT...

NCDOT: Project Details

So that trip to New Bern will get much easier when that is finished.
