Here's a property search tip. The most accurate and up to date public information will be at Realtor.com or any local Realtor's IDX listing. This info is pulled directly from the MLS Data base. Websites like Zillow and Trulia are what are known as "Third party data aggregators." They do not pull directly from the MLS data base.
Also be very wary of the Zillow "Zestimates". This is an automated system using an undisclosed algorithm to concoct their version of home value. After doing BPO's and CMA's for 10 years and usually being no more than $500 off from an appraisal, In my opinion Zillow "Zestimates" are not a reliable or nowhere near an accurate source.
To show how broad stroke their guess is at valuations I pasted from the Zillow site their example.
"The Value Range, which is related to the Zestimate, shows the high and low estimated values of a home (e.g., the Zestimate may be $260,503, while the Value Range is $226,638 -- $307,394"

Why do trulia and zillow tend to have property records further back than realty.com?

IMO, as far as an investment, the generation coming behind the boomers who are looking for second homes at the beach have far less money than the boomer generation and there are far fewer of them and they are smarter shoppers.

Location, location, location is very important as well as the quality of the kitchens and baths.
