Visiting WAVES on The Outer Banks 2nd Week July 2018
Rented a Home for Family & Extended Family in WAVES
Just wondering if anyone can offer up any kind of information.
Looking for things such as MUST See, Must Dine at, Day Trips, Kayaking or Hiking Info, Watersports Rentals, 'Stay away from' and any other Tips and Tricks
Its just Waves, not WAVES, just like its Chicago, not CHICAGO. Waves is located in the middle of the Outer Banks, and in general, its a pretty quiet area. Most folks go there to enjoy the beach. Sting Rays and Watermen's are supposed to be good, casual restaurants.
Drive down to Cape Hatteras and see the famous lighthouse. Ocracoke is a quaint village accessible only by ferry that makes a fun day trip.

We stayed in the Outer Banks four years until we tried the Crystal Coast. Very beachy out there in there OB! Wonderful large beaches and a constant breeze, ideal for kites and wind surfing. We tried Rodanthe, Waves and settled on Avon as our favorite town due to more restaurants and family activities. Just plan on driving up and down Hwy 12 to get necessities and food/gas. I also recommend a trip over to Ocracoke. Being Boomers, my husband and I had to laugh about the thought of "old hippies" living there. Enjoy your family time and say hello to Mother Ocean for me!
