Hi. I'm living in Charlotte now and have some friends coming in for the 4th. We were thinking of hitting the North Carolina coast somewhere, literally some random town we've never been to. I don't have a clue about the coast whatsoever and was wondering if I could get some ideas of cool towns to stay in. We will be three dudes looking for fun stuff to do and are open to hotels and/or camping. Any suggestions? I know it's pretty broad but it's between this and going to Myrtle Beach. Thanks in advance!
Stay on the North End of the Outerbanks
Loads of campgrounds and house rentals to stay at.
Between Nags Head and Kitty Hawk.
You can
Windsurf
Parasail
Hangglide
Kiteboarding
Deep Sea Fishing for Red Drum or Tuna or Marlin and others
4x4 Ride up near Corolla
or near the Oregon Inlet
Deep Sea Diving and explore old ship wreckage
North Carolina coast all the way up and down it is not party beaches if that is your intentions for tourist trap activities , amusement parks; if that your interest I would head to Myrtle Beach.
Do you fish, surf, boat? Knowing a little of your likes would help to point you to a coastal location best suited to you.

like to fish, owned a boat for quite a few years, so yes. we know we can charter a fishing boat or even rent a boat. we know at night we'll pretty much just be going out to bars (unless there's other interesting night-time activities). so it's mostly daytime activities we're looking for. Thanks!
ok, looks like actually we are either going to myrtle beach SC or Charleston. Guess I gotta post in another forum then...thanks!
