As I get older, I find I'm looking for pieces of my childhood that brought me so much happiness. I started collecting Whimsey dolls because I had a Dixie the Pixie when I was 5 that I loved. My cousin had one too. I looked on ebay and found one, and started collecting a few others in the line I didn't even know existed. I also found the lunchbox I used in grammar school (Disney bus), now I'm looking for my Schwinn Debbie that was my first bike. I'd love to find monster cards... does anyone else do this? I enjoy the hunt. I don't feel like I'm trying to live in the past... i just love the old days and the good memories.

I do it. I like to recreaate the pleasant memories of my childhood. I bought an electric fireplace grate identical to one my grandmother had. It has artificial coal and is lit by light bulbs. The coals glow becaause a pierced disc rotates above the bulbs. That's probably my neatest item, but not the only one

I must have too many memories!! I am constantly dragging stuff home that brings back memories. Our house looks like a small overstuffed road side museum. We now have over 60 seperate collections. Many of them overlap into other collections. We have everything from tiny pin-backs, bug sculptures, mini animals All the way up to 24 full size mannequins and even airline seats. It is overwhelming at dusting time. My girlfriend is just as guilty as I am. I brought home a vintage drafting lamp from work yesterday and a vintage "Beanie and Cecil " vinyl lunch box today. We have been collecting over ten years and probably bring home an average of a piece every other day.

How fun. I have a mannequin in my garage. I thought I'd dress him up for different events, but now he's just standing in the garage with just a teeshirt on. Looks kind of decadent. I love Beanie & Cecil. I used to have the plastic beanie with the propeller on top. If you pulled the string it would fly off. I'm going to have to get out to more garage sales and do some junking.

Didn't the announcer begin the show with, "It's time for Beanie, with Durkeen (unsure of spelling) and Teeny?". As memory serves, Durkeen was the human. Was Dishonest John a character on that show? I also remember an adventure at the fifth corner of the globe, but I can't remember if it was this show or another.

Does any one remember Foudini and Pinhead? I had a Foudini puppet.

I don't remember the opening, but I do remember Dishonest John. I don't recall Foudini & Pinhead. My favs were Speedy Gonzalez, Mighty Mouse, Huckleberry Hound, Fog Horn Leg Horn, Popeye... good times.
