MSU didn't get to 10-1 without being a very good team.

Sure they have a tougher assignment at Penn State this weekend compared to UW and OSU, but it is more logistics than schedule that stands to keep them out of the Rose Bowl.

What's most significant about the Spartans this year is less their record than what they have become. They finally found the right coach with Danitello and they are in the process of becoming a "Program" in the Big Ten.

Three straight wins over Michigan is HUGE. If MSU is competitive with U-M instate, it will go a long way toward making it a major factor in the conference.

Besides, there is no certainty that U-M will build back to powerhouse status in the conference.

Seems to me that the new conference set up helps the Spartans. I don't care what anyone says but having U-M and OSU in different divisions is going to weaken the rivalry. And both schools have MAJOR intradivision rivals....MSU for U-M and PSU for OSU.

My sense is that the new B10 dynamics will work out nicely for MSU.

?

I think the Big East football bunch has to be highly touted to be considered overrated. I don't see the connection you make here.

As for Sparty not getting respect, they are, but it is tempered after years of 4-0 type starts ending up in 7-6 seasons.
