They have been going downhill since those 2 left, and I don't think anyone really expected them to compete much this year. If they had that team this year, I think they definitely could have held their own in the SEC...although Alabama would still win it.
LOL. Yeah Mizzou's only 2 losses that year were to OU. Then KU goes on to win the Orange Bowl @ 12-1. Poor Mizzou. The Big 12 was stacked that year.

Cycles, it's all about cycles.

No they wouldn't...

Texas Tech was 10-1 and got their @sses whupped by...Ole Miss. OU got roughed up by Florida. Just accept it: SEC is a dominant conference, and the Big 12 is a weak one. The Big 12 has had their chance to prove itself, and it has failed. Utterly.

Whose your team? Probably Kentucky? Ole Miss? Maybe that lofty Tennessee program?

You're still BandWagon where I come from cause you root for your CONFERENCE more than your team, which probably is not all that good. Or are you a disgruntled A&M fan? You would impress us a lot more if you were just honest about which team you cheered for.....not for your conference. *Cue the "SEC, SEC, SEC" chants.*

Unless you're a Bama Fan, you have no business talking down Sooner Fans. Bammer's the only program that can hang with our tradition. Period.

LSU had a murderous schedule... probably the toughest schedule in the history of college football.

And look where it got them...

The Big 12 is weak? The conferences go through cycles in pretty much every sport. Calling the Big 12 weak shows a lack of knowledge or just blind bias. The Big 12 weak is just foolish considering they have 7 teams in the Top 12 of the BCS rankings. That is nearly a 1/3 of the teams in the rankings. What about that is weak?

A weak conference would be something like Conference USA or Mountain West.

As far as MU is concerned, I was with two MU fans last night and they are still happy about the move to the SEC. They are looking long-term, not to short term results.

I think you meant top 25... The Big12 only has 2 teams in the top 12.

NOT that I'm comparing but the SEC has 6 in the top 12. which is half of the top teams. And the Pac12 has 3 teams. So the Big12 is ahead of the Big10 and ACC but behind the SEC and Pac12. That's right in the middle of the road.

And that's good to hear about the fans of Mizzou. It's good to know they were realistic in their expectations. I guess smart schools have those type of fans...

If the Sooners were in the SEC your tradition would be losing to Bama, LSU, Florida and maybe Arkansas or Miss State year in year out. Oklahoma tradition would be going to the Music City Bowl and being glad about it.

OU is 2-1-1 against 'Bama and beat them the last two times they played. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Whoopi! Anyone could have beaten Bama before Saban showed up. That's the thing. OU probably could on a very good day step up and beat Bama but could very well lose to Auburn the next week and LSU the week after that. That winning tradition would be altered just a bit.
