The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Blazers are back in Division I play (Conference USA) after the program had been dropped. They have their 2017 schedule posted.
As a Birminghamster, I really love this story. The University of Alabama wielded far too much power and shuttered the football program in 2014 despite it having a winning season, a bowl bid, and turning a profit. The coach for UAB is excellent, decided to fight the shutdown and brought that program back from the dead with a lot of civic support.
No way they get to a bowl this year, but I don't think they'll lose all their games either.
I don't have any connection to UAB or Birmingham, but I didn't like the way their football program was dropped. The Birmingham residents got together to help bring the program back, and raised a hefty sum of money. Their new facilities are quite impressive. I see the Florida Gators are on their schedule this season.

One would tend to surmise, in a non-clown world, that the UA system would be just fine with a second school doing well for once. It's not like UAB is some threat to take UAT's slot in the SEC ever.
Then again, we live in a clown world, so I probably missed where UTexas was hopping furious over the the fact that UTEP had back to back 8-4s in 2004-5 and went bowling in 2010 and 2014.
