It used to be a "junior college". Now they are just simply St. Petersburg college. They offer bachelors degrees as well as the community college type of AA and Apllied Science degree. I am considering enrolling in one of their bachelor programs after I finish my AA, instead of transferring to a University. Is that to my detriment? Would employers or graduate schools see that I graduated from St. Petersburg College and think "Oh, that's just a community college" or does it now have the same "clout" as a state college?

No St. Petersburg has a fairly good reputation-tried to get into a health program there...needed a 3.9 GPA-have friends who are professors and they would not leave... one of them was offered a job at USF and he turned it down...

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a current student there working towards my AA with intent to transfer to a state university. It would be a lot cheaper for me to finish my degree at SPC, though. I'd have to really consider what I want, as their Bachelor programs are only in a few areas.
I'm really having a hard time selecting a major. What I want to do is either low paying or low-demand, the things that I may loke which are higher paying have requirements that I'm not sure I can realistically meet (I work full time amd have to pay out of pocket for school). But that's all a subject for another thread...

You'd likely have more places recruiting from USF if you went there. If costs were the same you'd probably be better off at a more well known school. Obviously if you could get into UF or FSU they are better schools but sounds like you want to stay local.

"Want to" and "Have to" are two seperate conditions. If I could go anywhere? Pepperdine or UC-San Doego.
Word of note. UCSD is about the furthest thing there is from a party school.
Haha, no! I'm a sober Buddhist. Only Mormons are less into partying than me. UCSD has a good program I like and I just think Pepperdine is beautiful Shallow, I know.
