What can you do with it?

Let's say you're on your way to become a teacher (still taking classes). What can you do in the meantime?

Are there jobs out there that just require an A.S. in education?

Suggestions much appreciated!

Early childhood education credentials can be obtained via a two-year degree (there are also four-year degrees in it, usually more heavy on developmental psych).

Substitute teaching usually requires 2 years of college, so you could do that.

What state/s allow that? Every district I have ever lived in requires subs to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree.

Early Childhood Ed is the only thing I am aware of in which a 2 year degree will make you employable.

All states I have taught in require a bachelor's to sub.Not all require teaching credentials, but all require a four-year degree for K-12 subbing.

You can often become a paraprofessional with two years' worth of college credits, but it depends on the state and district.

Requirements for Substitute Teachers by State - STEDI.org

Some states don't even require any college at all

I am assuming the ones which only require HS or GED are for substituting in elementary school, not high school, but who knows.

State departments of education found here:
Education Resource Organizations Directory (EROD)
