I have narrowed down my list to these two colleges. Is anyone willing to compare and contrast these two colleges? If you think one of them is better than the other, please explain. Thanks

Your opinion is appreciated!
p.s I am an international student and I have not visited either shcool.

Trinity would be the obvious choice.

You may have confused Trinity U with Trinity College. Trinity U is in Texas and Trinity College is in connecticut.

I don't know anything about Trinity U--never heard of it. Based on that alone, I'd choose U. Richmond as it's quite well-known and respected. In addition, I would think Richmond would be a nicer place to live.

Trinity University is actually more prestigious than the University of Richmond... plus it's in San Antonio, I think. You couldn't pay me to move to Richmond as a college student. Not that San Antonio is better but Richmond.. blech. Personally, I'm not a fan. :P Trinity is ranked #1 in the West for masters degrees and both schools are considered "more selective" (on a continuum from least to most).

Having heard of a school is no indicator of whether it is good or not. Very few people have heard of Williams College, but it is the top ranked and most competitive LAC in the country.

Smile Both good

I've visited Trinity University in San Antonio several times with my kid and taken a tour/visit. I know Richmond only through others and by its "reviews". Both are good schools and you should be happy at either. Richmond is significantly more expensive but is noted for giving a large number of significant merit packages--they have a reputation as one of the more generous schools. We never got that far in the application process so I can't say anything about that from experience. Trinity U. has a good reputation (#1 master's level program in the south) and has a very good reputation for taking care of their students--very "warm" campus. Their dorms are also always rated highly-- a little bigger than average with balconies, walkin closets, maid service q 1-2 weeks. San Antonio is a great town if you don't mind the heat. Trinity very much emphasizes liberal arts, ie "well-rounded students". I would feel very comfortable with my son there and think you would be well-looked after. Obviously, being in Texas, I know a lot more about Trinity--the kids I know from there seem genuinely happy. Good luck!

Thank you collegedad.
I have been told that Trinity is the second best college in Texas (Rice is the best).
If Richmond isn't a lot better than Trinity, I think I will attend Trinity.
But I have to say this. Trinity's acceptance rate and 6 year graduation rate do not make Trinity look like a great school.
