Because many people don't understand that the word "liberal" in "liberal arts" isn't used to denote affiliation with the Democratic party when used in that context.

Young people are more idealistic, open for many new, radical ideas, and are still looking for some kind of directions in life. Some grow up and get a little grip on reality, some don't.

In this discussion, I did not think "liberal arts" was used in context in that fashion. The term used was "liberal haven". The "liberal" in "liberal haven" is often used to denote "liberalism". And "liberalism" is not used to denote affiliation with the Democratic Party, even though there are many liberals in the party. Someone may have mentioned that liberal arts majors tend to support "political liberalism", but I felt that was more of an opinion, than denoting the "liberal" in "liberal arts" with "political liberalism".
That is not true. College is extremely controlling.
