I imagine that the content is substantially similar. However, there are some minor differences between U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and those in other countries. Certainly, may of the same international standards apply; it's quite possible that some of the content or notations in the int'l ed. would be different, though.

540-804,
Sorry, I was not so clear. From the POV of a bookseller, I am sure they would run into trouble selling large quantities of these books into the US. If not, they would have already done so and the OP would have no need to ask the question.

For this reason, international editions in the US are not sold en masse. What you end up getting is a few random copies drifting about on ebay and in used book stores (perhaps).

So while not illegal to you, the consumer, sellers of these books would possibly run into legal trouble with large scale distribution.

S.

Yes, it would be the same. The ISBN number on international editions is different, but the actual content is the same. The only differences are international editions are always paperback with thinner, cheaper paper. Most also only have black and white photographs, instead of the full-color ones found in the US edition.

When I was in school, I bought international editions of books whenever I could find them and never had an issue with the content. They are usually much cheaper than even the used price for the US editions.
