Probably a good thing. I will try to wean myself from that as well. I just love to hear the lies...

Glutton for prevarication!

Or when they do things like… "Is it gonna be a white xmas???… stay tuned and we'll tell you later!" trying to get you to watch the rest of their crappy broadcast just to find out if there's snow in the forecast. Just: click --> noaa.com and save yourself an hour!

BBC World Report (on NPR) seems to be by far the best broadcast coverage. Other than that, I just search news headlines each day to make sure I'm not missing anything really major. But it's usually just something about another shooting or the gov't not having their act together in some way… in other words, not "New"s at all.

Now it seems to me that Channel 5 could just fire all of their engineers and train a drunken monkey to do a better job.

Anyone remember Sandra Mann?

You can still watch her on Homicide Hunter. Lieutenant Joe Kenda talks about all Colorado Springs cases and she is frequently on to recall the reporter perspective from when the crimes first happened. She might also still be a high school referee in town....

Now I just enjoy 5 for the freak show. It is truly funny these days... except for the content. Most of this stuff is pretty tragic. I watch House of Cards and Breaking Bad reruns to wind down.

Ann Ervin is also part of the show giving report insights from when she was here reporting. I love Homicide Hunter!

After leaving KKTV, Sandra went on to be the spokesperson for Adelphia and was elected to the D11 School Board. Since then, she's been involved in independent media producing as well as her community work.

I couldn't think of Ann Ervin's name when I made that post about Homicide Hunter or I would've mentioned her, too. Yeah it is an interesting show, especially when you see a case that you remember.

Shellene Cockrell. What do you think of this newscaster?

Adam is gone and Zack is filling in. Poor Zack. I hope he hangs in there. He needs to be the replacement for Rob one day.

Still not much diversity of color at 5. They look like rabbits eating marshmallows in a snowstorm still.

What happened to Nicole Vandeputte (sp) really liked her. Was she the one that slipped with the nasty word??? All the years that she has said great words......one of the best newscasters in Cos....hope she is enjoying her little ones. Miss her a lot. Why not cut her some slack? Jealousy? Remember the weather guy on 13 slipped, thought he was off the air? The station almost fired him; changed their minds.

I saw Nicole Vandeputte (sp?) at Target in Pueblo a couple of months ago and she looked great.

I wanted to talk to her but I would have had to stand in line.

Does anyone know much about Mike Daniels? I hear he's quite the lady's man.
