The aspen are gorgeous this weekend - get out there tomorrow if you didn't today. In a week or two, the scrub oak ought to be beautiful. Here are just a couple photos I took of the aspen: Otowi: Aspen near Pikes Peak

Yep, starting to get into full swing up here. I drove through La Veta pass last weekend and it was incredible, between the aspen and the gambel oak presenting a wide variety of colors (seemingly more than it does here).

Beautiful pictures, Otowi!! My favorite drive every year is between Divide and Cripple Creek on 67. It's just so beautiful!

Default Gold Camp Road

If you like the fall color on 67 between Cripple Creek and Divide, try Gold Camp Road from COS to Victor. Spectacular color as of last Friday.

We want to drive down from Denver to the Springs this coming weekend...we were planning to go to Garden of the Gods, but I'd appreciate any other suggestions for seeing fall color in the CoSprg area!

To see aspen, you need to get some elevation - like head up Pikes Peak to the reservoirs, etc. But next weekend could be too late as aspen are very fickle!

We were just in Springs area and drove out towards and beyond Salida on 50. Saw huge groves of golden aspen.

This time of year the drive on Old Stage Road up to Victor/Cripple Creek is gorgeous ... lots of aspen on that road. And if you have time to do this road trip, Kebler Pass is incredible for Aspen viewing.
