Actually, according to Sperling the air quality in the Springs is a bit better than Denver's but still very poor compared to the national average. On a scale of 0-100 (100 being the best) the national average for air quality is 48, Denver is 21, and Co. Spgs is 25.

Water quality on the other hand is a different story. The national average is 55, Denver is 87, and Co Spgs is 92.
