Small town, big amenities, stunning mountain views, and a vibrant local restaurant scene for a city of its size.

And within minutes you're in the mountains. Also the best small zoo ever:

I love visiting Manitou Springs although I rarely do so. I enjoyed participating in the Coffin Races 2013, building that giant clown head was fun! Had too much on my plate to deal with it in 2014 though.

I have made lots of good friends. We have some fairly elaborate weekly activities including our pool team on the local APA league and our Saturday "Pathfinder" (tabletop roleplaying) game. Good stuff to look forward to every weekend.

I had a good experience with securing employment for myself compared to other places I've lived...but of course that is highly variable for each person.

I love that I can have an indoor cat and not have to wage constant battle to keep fleas at bay. We do nothing to prevent them, didn't even flea dip the cat when we rescued him, and have never seen a one.

I love the light shows...sunrises, sunsets, cloud patterns, shadow play, and sunbursts over the mountains are all pretty to watch--sometimes truly spectacular.
