Me and my wife are moving to Colorado springs on the 1st of November. We both will be transferring to the waffle house on Filmore. We have a 17 year old chiauaua that is house trained and crate trained. We are looking for a cheap place to move in. Either an apartment or house even a room or motel would be OK we would like to stay around 500 a month but can pay a little more. does anybody know of anywhere or I could suggest somewhere for me to call

I might be able to give you a number of a landlord that rents for $500, dogs always ok.
Don't know if he has any availabilities...he is camping this weekend, may be outta range...
but a text is good...I will pm you his number.
But, please, start out saying, "My wife and I..."
Good luck.

Look in the vicinity of Fountain Blvd. and Chelton.

You know, considering the reputation that area has, rents aren't as cheap (or on par with the neighborhood) the way they should be. A co-worker of mine that just moved here is paying $700 a month for a one bedroom behind the 7-11 over there.

OP, can you raise your budget to $600 a month? In this town that seems to be the cost point between living in the sketchier parts of town vs. living in a decent, albeit lower class neighborhood.

Buddy of mine rented a one bedroom studio for around $400/month. We'd hang out there in the parking lot to work on cars... nobody ever bothered us, although we did both pack heat, just in case.
For $700/month (or less, actually) and a willingness to live in a one bedroom, Canyon Ranch wasn't a terrible place to live. I'd certainly live there again before I'd live in that area of Fountain/Chelton. But there really isn't any place in CS I'd actually be scared to live in. Then again, I've also lived in the Lower 9th of NOLA.
