Hi!
I'm back in school, and thus, spending way too much time hitting the books. I'd like to occasionally get out and about. I'd love to find a place with a great view to work. When I asked on a local mommy group, somebody suggested Panera. Be better than that.

Criteria:

Within an hour of the Springs. In fact, I'd prefer something out of town.
Coffeeshop/cafe/casual restaurant that won't kick me out after an hour if they're not packed.
A REAL view, like a vista, like I should be overlooking a valley, (water is too much to ask for) or looking out at an unfettered vision of mountains, that sort of thing. I have a view of Pike's Peak and the Rampart from my front yard. I'm hoping for something special.

Anybody?

Thanks!

Ooh, that's a tough one. It certainly will need to be up in elevation to see over trees and buildings. There aren't too many retails areas in elevated locations that could provide that sort of view. Thinking of some local areas with decent western vistas, they don't necessarily have coffee shops near by. The new VA center lobby? Gold Hill Mesa area? Woodland park, maybe, or Divide. North side of the Peak is different than your normal view.

Garden of the Gods Club, Pinery@the Hill, Sunbird all kinda nailed down some primo locations but they aren't necessarily student friendly. Not sure if there is something in the Mountain Shadows area. There are a few small strip malls with potential coffee shops and views, but I don't have any first hand experience with any. Something up on the Palmer Ridge in Monument?

I've figured out a perfect one, but I need to bring my own coffee.
The overlook at Mueller State Park Visitor Center.

Which brings to mind the Garden of the Gods visitor center. Hmm.

Well well, I shall be taking my homemade pumpkin spice latte to Mueller for some leaf peeping then. Neener neener.

I work from home, but I like the thought of finding some quiet coffee places with a view where I can work on my MacBook in peace, just to get a change of scenery and avoid getting cooped up in my apartment 24 hours a day.

Wesley Owens in Monument. They have some tables outside. It is very nice inside too but sadly no views from the inside.

Joanie's Bakery and Deli in Woodland Park has outdoor seating and a different view of PP than you get from down in the springs. I've lingered over many cups of coffee there without being bothered ... plus they have baked goodies to go along with your coffee.
