The sign for Cordera isn't much past that, but it extends very far North. The new homes appear to be being built closer to Interquest.

Wolf Ranch might extend Eastward more though - I wonder if there's a way from either to get to the base avoiding Powers or Marksheffel.

Either way, OP probably isn't going to have a great commute outside of Falcon or far East springs. It's pretty far out there, my house is almost as far East as you can get (Marksheffel/N.Carefree) and we're 22 minutes away.

The GPS says 40 minutes now from Cordera road. That's with no traffic and taking Powers.

I'm guessing OP is going for almost an hour each way. My 25 minute commute to the West side of town each day is typically 45 minutes with traffic.

Coming from DC or wherever, that's probably okay. Some of those other places they liked would be an even worse drive.

*Eta, Cordera road appears to be between the two communities.

All the neighborhoods you mentioned are great for families. I might also check out The Farm as it is quite popular for families. For commuting definately Wolf Ranch 1st and then Cordera and Pine Creek. Also Bison Pointe and North Fork are newer neighborhoods just north of Codera and Pine Creek. Check out taxes and HOA fees because they vary quite a bit by neighborhood.
