Gas, water, sewage and electric are all on one bill. House has 5 people + animals, $220/month for all.
Car insurance was $180 for 6 months. (Liability and uninsured motorist only.)
Trash is $85 for 2 big cans for 3 months.
I also live in the Colorado Springs city area where gas, water, sewage and electric are combined. I have a 3000 sq.ft. energy star rated home and xeriscaped yard.

Summer: $150/mo highest is water portion
Spring/Fall: $110/mo
Winter: $150-$220/mo depending on weather, highest is gas portion

Overall utilities here are very low compared to other places I've lived (over 30 places!)

Car insurance has been similar to other places. Currently $175/mo for wife and me with two new cars valued over $30K each new. We are in late 30's early 40's.

P.S.: I rented before buying. Had a 1/3 acre lot almost entirely grass. The water portion of the bill alone got up to $200/mo sometimes in the summer. Big influence in my decision to only do about 1200 sq.ft. of sod and the rest xeriscape on my home.
