Wondering if anyone knows of any motels/cabins in the Woodland Park area. It's been a few years since I've stayed there and we are planning on going back thru Colorado again this summer. I grew up going to Woodland Park as a kid for our summer vacations and the cabins and campground that we stayed at then were gone on my last visit. Sadly, the campground was still a campground when the Texas 7 that had busted out of prison were found there years ago. I prefer to stay up in the mountains and make the day trip to Colorado Springs for Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and such. Is the NorthPole amusement park still operating?

Thanks

Do you mind a Bed and Breakfast? You can go to bnbfinder.com. or pikespeakresort.com, those are just a few. It is a great area... Hope you enjoy! bashep

Probably not a b&b, we will have the kids w/ us. I like being where the kids can be outside and run and play and we can sit and watch and enjoy the cool crisp air. I was able to find a few things just now online. WOW!!! More in Woodland Park than there was 13 years ago. There are a few motels and some cabins so that might work. I don't mind a motel as long as it is clean, good area, something for the kids to do and all of us unwind. Coming from the "big city" we like vacations that allow that.

Thanks

I know there is some cabins up in that area. Which would be nice. You should hit Eleven Mile Canyon, it is beautiful, we camp there a few times a year and fly fish. The kids love it up there. If you have any other questions, let me know. bashep

There are quite a few motels/hotels up in WP, but if you're looking for a cabin, I can suggest some great ones here: www.coloradomountaincabins.com . They have a lot of cabins, and I'm pretty sure they're good rates (I've never stayed in cabins really)
