Default Bailey...

VERY small town quite a drive away from Denver down US 285.
NOT much there at all! Couple of gas stations and maybe a hardware store?
VERY isolated....but scenic.
If you live there...be prepared for LENGTHY drives for anything.
Also....there was a HUGE wildfire in the area about 7 years ago and maybe another one more recently.

A lot of people live there and commute into Denver. That's why highway 285 is being widened (again). I used to commute from Conifer, which is about 15 minutes closer to Denver. If you are on a school bus route, then the roads get plowed early in the morning.

Bailey is isolated, but there is shopping in Conifer and Aspen Park. And the Coney Island Hot Dog stand just reopened!

We lived across from hot dog stand in Aspen Park at a much better time 1971,it was a lot of summer homes then and also Evergreen.Just before population explosion.Gas station next door to hotdog stand sold gas for 29.9.The hot dog stand came from East Colfax.World War 2 Mountain Div.did some winter training just down and across from hot dog stand, used to be Meyers Ranch. They talked of widening 285 at that time but Dick Lamb killed it,P.O.M.E.,protect our mountain enviorment. They were talking winter olympics. As for Bailey,it is a tough climb in the winter. There were 8 of us living across the road from the stand. There is a whole history to area.I just happened to think of book I have written by Margaret V. Bentlly in !978 "The upper Side of The Pie Crust".Talks about all of Conifer,Bailey,Buffalo Creek etc. and the trains from Denver running to Bailey.
