Visiting Vail ski resort with friends/family...clothing questions?

If you're nervous you're coat won't be enough to keep you warm because it really does get pretty frigid some days with the wind at the top, then just pack extra layers. I usually ski with a layer of long johns or underarmor, a long sleeve shirt, and then a sweater on top of that and then my coat which has built in layers. Also remember that whatever temperature it is at the bottom of the hill, it's going to be ten degrees colder at the top of the mountain most mornings. You can also buy hand warmers and toe warmers which I always use until about March. If your toes and hands don't get cold, then you don't have to worry about it.

As for wearing one jacket around town, that's absolutely fine. You'll see people in fox furs and nice coats, but it's all about personal preference out there. Everyone's on vacation mostly, so nobody really cares what you wear around town.
