Here is the actual video alluded to by McGowdog's post, in which Hickenlooper says that socialism is not the answer.

The Hickenlooper segment begins at 6:30 or so, with some commentary by David Doel:

I always thought he was a moderate democrat, then THIS comes out of his mouth? Way to pander to the base there, pal.

Hick was going for the more centrist position to make him seem "reasonable", but his history, and policies are more Socialist than not. Politicians can say anything they want. It is their ACTIONS that matter, and Hick's have always been Far Left. He knows he has no shot for President. More likely he is angling for a Senate seat or Cabinet Appointment.

Your always good for a laugh Pilot. The fact you equate Hickenloopers centrist positions with socialism shows how far right you are.

If he wanted a senate seat, he would be running for senate. He would wipe the floor with Gardner. I’m not sure what his end game is, but it’s not the senate.

Mandating for Nazi-esque gun control is hardly a centrist position. He basically just parroted the same tired old super-left position on gun control wants.

I never pegged him as that far liberal. I guess now his true colors are showing.

Could be. I like Gardner, but you may be right. Maybe a VP slot, or cabinet?

If you look at national polling, background checks and magazine limits are hardly a position of the far left. Very much a centrist position.

Well background checks are already in place for the vast majority of purchases as they are done through FFL dealers at gun shops. Magazine capacity limits are NOT a centrist position. Not at all. Maybe for YOU they are. Just ask Evie Hudak and that other guy that got recalled.
