You mean rent or buy? Rent, oh, maybe you could find a rental home for as low as $800 / month or so for a really basic/small house (not apartment). Buying, well, I wouldn't buy right now in your price range, prices are still falling pretty hard in the less expensive suburban neighborhoods. As for where is cheap (but not dangerous), I'd say parts of Aurora, Northglenn/Thornton would fit the bill at about $150k for a starter home.

2400 is a lil big but thats why i say nothing larger i mean i easily can go smaller but i mean i'd like to have a decent place i mean after all the waiting and saving i wanna move into something nice i'll have about 35-40 grand to put down mortgage wise 30 yr fixed is to long i am sorta not sure if i would ever sell again i mean...i do not have plans to ever leave co but lifes unpredictable so if i ever wanted to sell i'd wanna get a good bit of money. i was talkin with my dad he made the mistake of having two mortgages at once for 3 1/2 years and it sucked ass bigtime, i dont wanna ever get in that situaion
